This system is a classical so-called client / server system, developed with the Java programming language, and therefore executable on nearly all operating systems.

The user interface is a Java Swing application integrating all dialogs and functional user interactions within this system. The backend is compiled by so-called Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) components, representing a future-proof software standard of modern server systems. This infrastructure allows all users to access the system not only via the corporate intranet, but also via the internet; all this is possible without any functional limitations.

The system is multilingual, i.e. each user can select his preferred language (currently German or English) for the user interface. This feature, together with the above-mentioned infrastructure, enables you to establish international projects, so that each project member can access the system from all over the world, thus enabling you to have most up-to-date data.

Whenever you are not able to work online, e.g. in a meeting without a network connection, and yet need to access all information on a project, you can export all data as linked HTML pages in advance and at the push of a button, showing you in detail all aspects of the project.

To allow for maximum security the system never transmits a password in plain text over the network. After a successful login a session context (as an approximately 20-digit numeric key) is generated at the server side, being additionally transmitted with every future access. From this key neither the user name nor the password can be extracted, but the server is able to identify the authenticity of the accessor from this key to permit or deny access in case of a detected intrusion.
